Keyboard Shortcuts

Using keyboard shortcuts makes workflow design quicker and easier. The Shortcut column in the tables below gives the keys to press to perform the action given in the Action column. To use a keyboard shortcut such as Ctrl + Alt + N, press the Ctrl, Alt, and N keys all at the same time.

Workflows

These shortcuts create and save workflows, and switch between (sub)workflows.

Ctrl + Alt + N

Create a new, blank workflow.

Ctrl + S

Save the current workflow.

If the workflow has not been saved before, this shortcut opens the Save As panel so you can enter a title for the workflow before saving.

Ctrl + Alt + ,

(Ctrl + Alt + comma)

Go to the previous tab to the left.

Ctrl + Alt + .

(Ctrl + Alt + period)

Go to the next tab to the right.

Ctrl + Alt + W

Close the current tab.

Ctrl + Alt + Home

Go to the main workflow.

Ctrl + Alt + B

Go to the previous breadcrumb.

Panels

These shortcuts open and close panels.

Shortcut

Ctrl + Alt + O

Open or close the File Panel. The File panel opens to the My Workflows list.

Ctrl + Alt + T

Open or close the Toolbox panel.

Ctrl + Alt + H

or

Ctrl + F1

Open or close the Help panel.

Ctrl + Alt + D

Open or close the details panel at the bottom of Workflow Designer.

File Panel

In a list of workflows in the File panel, select a workflow and press Enter to open or create the workflow.

This shortcut works for the File panel's New, My Workflows, Recent, or Shared With Me options.

File Panel Search

Enter

In a Search box in the File panel, enter the text to search for and press Enter to initiate the search.

This shortcut works for the File panel's New, My Workflows, Recent, or Shared With Me options.

Flowcharts

These shortcuts manipulate the flowchart or design surface.

For these shortcuts to work, the flowchart must be active. Click anywhere on the design surface to make the flowchart active.

In addition to the shortcuts described in the table below, you can move the flowchart by dragging the design surface.

Reset the position of the design surface so the flowchart is positioned top and center.

Page Up

Scroll up one page.

Page Down

Scroll down one page.

Up Arrow

Mouse Wheel Up

Scroll up part of a page.

"Mouse Wheel Up" means "Turn the mouse wheel away from yourself".

Down Arrow

or

Mouse Wheel Down

Scroll down part of a page.

"Mouse Wheel Down" means "Turn the mouse wheel toward yourself".

Left Arrow

Scroll left.

Right Arrow

Scroll right.

Ctrl + =

(Ctrl + equals sign)

or

Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Up

Zoom in on the flowchart.

"Mouse Wheel Up" means "Turn the mouse wheel away from yourself".

Ctrl + -

(Ctrl + dash)

or

Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Down

Zoom out from the flowchart.

"Mouse Wheel Down" means "Turn the mouse wheel toward yourself".

Ctrl + 0

Reset the zoom level.

Ctrl + Z

Undo changes to the flowchart and its activities, like adding, connecting, configuring, moving, and deleting activities.

Ctrl + Y

Redo changes that were undone using Ctrl + Z.

Activities

These shortcuts operate on an activity.

Shortcut

Action

Arrow Keys

Move the selected activity up, down, left , or right within the flowchart. The activity's connectors automatically adjust so they remain connected.

Enter

Open the subworkflow for the selected activity.

Delete

Delete the selected activity.

Activity Input Suggestions

These shortcuts operate on an activity input's suggestions in the activity's settings panel or in the Input Editor .

Insert the selected suggestion into the expression or setting.

Escape

Hide the suggestions.

Up Arrow

Highlight the previous suggestion in the list of suggestions.

Down Arrow

Highlight the next suggestion in the list of suggestions.

Form Elements

This shortcut operates on a form element in the Display Form activity's form designer.
