Print templates have properties that affect the template as a whole, like margin sizes, or that control preferences, like the units that Print Designer uses to display measurements.
Select the Print Template
Use any of the following methods to select the print template:
Open the Properties panel and select the item of type XtraReport from the drop-down list, for example,Print1 (XtraReport). Print templates based on the Blank Page template are named after the template file's default name: Print1, Print2, Print3, and so on.
Select Print Template at the top of Print Template Explorer .
Click the design surface (not a band or control).
Select the print template by clicking anywhere that is not shaded red
Properties of Print Templates
To change the name that Print Designer uses for a print template, select the print template and configure the Design | Name setting in the Properties panel. The name appears in the Properties drop-down list.
To configure the units that Print Designer uses to display height and width, select the print template and configure the Actions | Measure Units setting in the Properties panel. The Measure Units setting is used for properties such as the height and width of margins and controls.
To configure the size of the grid on the design surface, select the print template and configure the Design | Snap Grid Size setting in the Properties panel.
To configure the size of paper that the print is intended to be printed on, select the print template and configure the Page Settings | Paper Kind setting in the Properties panel.
The size of the currently selected Paper Kind is shown above the Paper Kind setting, in the Page Width and Page Height settings. The units used by Page Width and Page Height are configured in the print template'sActions | Measure Units setting.
Printing of 3D web scenes is limited to 8.5"x11" or A4 paper at 96 DPI.
By default, print templates use portrait orientation. To switch to landscape orientation, select the print template and then select the Page Settings | Landscape checkbox in the Properties panel.
By default, print templates have a white background. To configure a different fill color for print pages, select the print template and configure the Appearance | Page Color setting in the Properties panel.
Use either of the following methods to configure the size of a print template's margins:
Select the print template and configure the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom settings in Page Settings | Margins in the Properties panel.
You can resize the margins on the design surface. To resize the left or right margin, drag the inside edge of the margin to the left or right. To resize the top or bottom margin, make sure the band is expanded and drag the bottom edge of the band up or down.
