Layer List

The Layer List page in Manager has settings that control the appearance and behavior of the Map Layers panel that is displayed on the left side of the viewer. The Map Layers panel contains the configurable directory of folders, map services, layers and basemaps that are available in the viewer. It also contains a menu to select a layer theme.

You can use Manager to configure which folders, map services and layers are initially turned on in the Layers panel when a user launches the map. For more information, see The Layer List.

Open the Layer List Page

To open an HTML5 viewer's Layer List page in Manager:

In Geocortex Essentials Manager, edit the viewer that you want to configure—edit the site that the viewer belongs to, click Viewers in the side panel, and then click the Edit icon beside the viewer.
In the side panel, click Layer List.

The Layer List page opens.

Layer List Settings

The Layer List page has the following settings:

Show Transparency Slider: Select this checkbox if you want to display transparency sliders for folders and layers. It is selected by default.
The way transparency sliders appear differs between dynamic map services and feature layers:
- Dynamic map services have a single transparency slider at the folder level if all contained layers are from the same service and no other folders contain layers from the same service. Failing that, sliders do not appear. Sliders never appear for each layer of a map service.
- Feature layers always have transparency sliders for each layer, never at the folder level.
Include Legend Swatches: Select this checkbox if you want to enable the ability to display legend swatches within the layer list. It is selected by default.
Auto Expand Swatches: Select this checkbox if you want to automatically display all legend swatches for each layer within the layer list. It is cleared by default.
Show Swatches For Visible Layers Only: Select this checkbox if you want to only display legend swatches for layers that are visible. The checkbox is cleared by default.
