Configure Portal for ArcGIS

You can set and edit specific settings for each Portal for ArcGIS whether it is a hub or agent portal. You can also add, edit and remove a remote Portal for ArcGIS.

Enable, Disable or Remove a Portal for ArcGIS

You can enable or disable a Portal for ArcGIS by clicking the Enabled icon:

When a Portal for ArcGIS is disabled, Analytics stops collecting information about it.

To remove a remote Portal for ArcGIS, click the Remove icon and when the warning appears, click Remove.

Specific Portal for ArcGIS Settings

ArcGIS Portals can be added to Analytics at any point and it will be detected and added to the sidebar automatically.

Set up a Remote Portal for ArcGIS

To set up a remote Portal for ArcGIS:

  1. Open Analytics, and then click Configuration.

  2. At the bottom of the sidebar, click Add and select ArcGIS Portal.

  3. On the Setup tab, enter the following information:

    A message indicates that the portal is being added. When the process is complete, the name of the portal appears in the resource list under Portals.

Set Specific Portal for ArcGIS Alarms

You can configure alarms for a specific ArcGIS Portal that trigger when any of the following occur:

You can also select whether or not to receive an email or SMS (text) message if the alarms are triggered.

To set alarms on a Portal for ArcGIS:

  1. Open Analytics, and then click Configuration.

  2. Click the specific Portal for ArcGIS, and then select the Alarm tab.

  3. To enable an alarm that fires if the remaining storage gets too low, click Enabled under the Storage Remaining Alarm, and then in the Free Space box, type in a percentage of free space. If the amount of storage available drops below this number, the alarm is triggered.

  4. To enable an alarm that fires when the number of users exceeds your limit, click Enabled under User Count Alarm, and then in the Users box, type in the number of users. If the number of users exceeds this number, the alarm is triggered.

  5. To enable an alarm that fires when a user is inactive for longer than a specific time, click Enabled under the User Inactive Alarm, and then in the Days Inactive box, type in number of days. If the number of days a user has not been active exceeds this number, the alarm is triggered.

  6. If you want to receive either an email or a text when any these alarms are triggered, select Email or SMS beside each alarm.

    The specific email and SMS information is configured under System settings.

Specific Portal for ArcGIS Services Settings

You can enable or disable a specific Portal for ArcGIS services, change the collection interval for each service and set alarms for a specific service.

On the Service Settings tab, change any of the following settings for each service:
