Configure ArcGIS Online

You can configure Global settings that affect all ArcGIS Online and Portal instances within the Analytics cluster. You can also set and edit specific settings for ArcGIS Online.

Enable, Disable or Remove an ArcGIS Online Instance

You can enable or disable ArcGIS Online by clicking the Enabled icon:

When ArcGIS Online is disabled, Analytics stops collecting information about it.

To remove ArcGIS Online, click the Remove icon and when the warning appears, click Remove.

Specific ArcGIS Online Settings

ArcGIS Online can be added to Analytics at any point and it will be detected and added to the sidebar automatically.

Set up a Remote ArcGIS Online Instance

To set up a remote ArcGIS Online instance:

  1. Open Analytics, and then click Configuration.

  2. At the bottom of the sidebar, click Add and select ArcGIS Online.

  3. On the Setup tab, enter the following information:

    A message indicates that ArcGIS Online is being added. When the process is complete, the Name you specified appears in the resource list under Portals.

Specific ArcGIS Online Alarms

You can configure alarms for ArcGIS Online that trigger when any of the following occur:

You can also select whether or not to receive an email or SMS (text) message if the alarms are triggered.

To set alarms on ArcGIS Online:

  1. Open Analytics, and then click Configuration.

  2. Click on the actual ArcGIS Online, and then select the Alarm tab.

  3. To enable an alarm that fires if the remaining credits get too low, click Enabled under the Credits Remaining Alarm, and then in the Credits box, type in the number of credits. If the amount of credit available drops below this number, the alarm is triggered.

  4. To enable an alarm that fires when the number of users exceeds your limit, click Enabled under User Count Alarm, and then in the Users box, type in the number of users. If the number of users exceeds this number, the alarm is triggered.

  5. To enable an alarm that fires when a user is inactive for longer than a specific time, click Enabled under the User Inactive Alarm, and then in the Days Inactive box, type in number of days. If the number of days a user has not been active exceeds this number, the alarm is triggered.

  6. If you want to receive either an email or a text when any these alarms are triggered, select Email or SMS beside each alarm.

    The specific email and SMS information is configured under System settings.

Specific ArcGIS Online Services Settings

You can enable or disable a specific ArcGIS Online services, change the collection interval for each service and set alarms for a specific service.

Under some circumstances, Analytics panels may not show information about ArcGIS Online services when they are included in an Essentials Site. If the ArcGIS Online service is not being collected from an ArcGIS Server that Analytics tracks, some Trends information will not be available. For more information, see Collection Limitations.

On the Service Settings tab, change any of the following settings for each service:
